Amazing Readers Digi's

Here's another new set from Ignacio.  It's called "Amazing Readers".  I used all circles on this card (a first for me).  I've never done this before.  you can find the directions for a "Circle (or round) Easel Card" on Splitcoast Stampers.  I used the biggest scallop circles, making 1 single and 1 with the fold on the edge, and two a little bit smaller for inside the big ones.  The one with the digi is the "Eyelet Circle" that I embossed and wove a then lace through.  The tag was something that I made on the puter.  All the paper is from the never ending pile of scraps.  Not sure if I'll be making a bunch of them, but it came out ok for a first for me.

AiFactory Challenge #51

AIF Challenge # 51  Embossing

This challenge was all about embossing.  It all depends on which kind you choose.  I did the dry embossing.  First I embossed the circles (by hand, I might add, because I still do not own a Cuttle Bug).  Then I Glimmer Misted the entire card in Tiger Glaze.  Next came the sanding part.  You'll have to play around with this to get your desired effet.  It removes some of the Glimmer Mist and brings the embossed parts to the surface.  Some of the parts of flowers are stickled (although, it's hard to tell.  And yes!!  I need a new one of those, too).

Thanx for joining us over at AIF for this weeks challenge. You do not need to use AIF digis, but feel free to pick up the freebies here. By using an AIF digi-you get your name entered twice into that weeks challenge. Check back often, you never know which designer is adding more. Just make sure you take part in the challenges.

You could be the next winner of this weeks images!!

New Challenge - Make a Bookmark or a Card with a Bookmark
For my project, I stamped using a Tim Holtz stamp and embossed it with  Ranger's "Princess Gold".  I also added some scrap fibers.

DP2 Challenge #44

Thursday, August 12, 2010 Challenge #44                Happy Thursday, Mo fans! Welcome to this week's challenge.     Peggy's our hostess this month and our challenge is to create a card or paper project using this picture as inspiration.

I tried something a little different using this weeks challenge.  The embossing on the front was a mixture of Sky Blue & Holographic.  The inside I made a little envelope for the teeth.  I added a tiny plastic bag for the teeth.  I think it came out kind of cute.  I never made a "Tooth Fairy" card before.

Stampalicious Single Layer Challenge!
This week we're going to challenge you to what many of us believe is one of the tougher challenges out....THE DREADED SINGLE LAYER CARD!

Now, the good news about these is, all going well, they can be very quick and beautiful! But, as some of may know...one little mistake and the whole card is KAPUT!!!
I guess that's why they call it a challenge though right!  The card itself must be one layer and you may use one or two small embellishments such as ribbon, a flower or a brad!  I embossed the word in orange and added orange distress ink around the edges.  This is harder than you might think.

Mindy's 3 Favorite Color
Hi, it's my turn to share the card I made using my 3 favorite colors. My 3 favorite colors are pink, green, and brown.
I also added a little embossing to my card this week.

FTTC71

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC71)! Cindy Haffner is our challenge host. Cindy is challenging us to embossing. There are a lot of different types of embossing options to choose from, such as heat, stencil, plates, folders, scoring, textured die cuts, and more. In addition, there are many different techniques to combined with embossing. You can also use anything from vellum, clear cardstock, or other textures for your embossed projects.  I did both trypes of embossing for my card.  I used lots of Tim Holtz/Ranger products for this challenge.

Simon Says Challenge

Domi's Wedding Card Challenge :-)
This challenge was to make a card for Domi & Uli who are getting married soon.  There were no limits for this challenge so here's what I came up with. the card is a Tri-fold card.  The paper is "Elegance" from MME.  I stamped the "Congrats" in "Royal Silk" by Colorbox.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.  I added the butterfly and some misc. bead strings, which I bought at Michales pretty cheap, along with the pull-out ribbon on the inside.  The flowers are "Fabric Fancies" from Prima.

FTTC63

Time for another Timeless Tuesday challenge.  This one was a sketch challenge.  The paper si from my vast collection of scraps, stamps are LRL Designs, D.O.T.S., and Art Warehouse and both the ink and embossing powder are Tim Holtz's "Vintage Photo".  Misc. lace was glue to the top and bottom for that "vintage" feel.  This is up there on my favs list.

Scrap That's Color of the week for April 18-B&W

This is what I came up with for this weeks color challenge-B&W.  The paper is from Creative Imaginations "Elegance" line, stamps are Hero Arts & Stampin' Up, ink is "Royal Silk" from Colorbox, and the embossing powder is Stamp n Stuff in "Kaleidoscope".  Enjoy...

Scrap That sketch challenge

Here's this weeks layout challenge for  Scrap That.  I used MME's "Fall In Love" paper, Tim Holtz's "Vintage Photo" for both the embossing ink and powder, and MSE's rub-ons.

FTTC60

It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have us a challenge host. This month’s challenge host is Denise Marzec(Peanutbee)! Denise is challenging us to an Inspiration Challenge! Denise has chosen three gorgeous pictures to get inspired by for our cardmaking.  The top pic was the one I chose for my inspiration.  I pulled the turquoise from the bad frame and the maroonish and beige from the rug on the floor.  The paper is MME's "Fall In Love", diecuts-Tim Coffee, stamps-MSE, and distress ink and embossing powder is Tim Holtzs' "weathered wood".  The bottom pic is the inside of the card (but I'm not happy w/it)!!

SS card challenge

This is the last weeks color card challenge for SS.  I guess it's my last for SS, because I've been kicked out for various reasons that I don't understand.
Anyways, it was a color challenge with your basic blue, green, brown, and orange. The stamps are from Danelle Johnson and LRL Designs and the embossing powder is Cappucino from Old Town Crafts.  The little girl is colored with pencils.
the color challenges are a little tougher than they look, because there are certian colors that you just don't use until a challenge comes up (sort of like colors that you just don't wear).

Cheerful Wishes Card

I made this card for my step-dads mom who's in a nursing home and is sick.  She will be 90 in the beginning of April!!  I hope she enjoys it...The paper is from Crate Paper and both the outside and inside words were embossed with Ranger's "Queen Gold" embossing powder.

SS card challenge

For theis one we had to match colors.  I really like the way this one came out.  The papers are from MME.  The small flowers I made using a med. petel punch w/stickles for the center.  The phrase was stamped w/Tim Holtzs' distress powder in Peeled Paint and the edges were done in the same color of ink.  Let me know what you think..

Thank You card

This is just a card I made for my father-in-law for sending me b-day money.  Paper is scraps (which I'm still trying to get rid of); stamps-inkadinkado, tim holtz, & danelle johnson; ink-colorbox, rubber stampede, martha stewart pens, & tim's clear embossing & tea dye ink; embossing powder-weathered wood ditress; misc-stickles, polymark pnt, & fiskars heritage punch.

happy thanksgiving card

This is a card challenge for Scrap That.  The challenge was to add a picture to a card.  I used Tim's distress embossing powder in "Vintage Photo" for the words.  This is my daughter at 7 mos. on Thanksgiving in 1995.  My mom gave her the whole chicken leg and she just went to town on it.  It was just way too friggin funny!!

Sparkle challenge

This is for a sparkly challenge over at /running With Scissors.  Paper is from Imaginisce (which is sparkly), stamp-Hero Arts, Ink-Colorbox, Distress Ink, embossing powder-Stamp N Stuff "Kaleidoscope", stickles "Diamond", paint-Polymark "Lt. Blue.

Wedding card

This was another great challenge over at SS.  There's a gift card holder on the inside of the card.  This was a great tutorial from Diane.  Since I don't do gift cards, I made mine for a teacher of my daughter's that was getting marrried.  Paper is from Creative Imaginations "Elegance" line, the "congrats" word was stamped with colorbox and embossed with kaleidoscope and  I replaced the gift card on the inside with a note written in gel pens, written by my daughter and embossed with the same thing.  The little part that's sticking out on the right side is where the tag is in the slot.  Sorry I don't have of pic of the inside.
