Incy Wincy Aug 1st Challenge #105 Monocromatic

 1 Aug 11
Challenge #105
Monochromatic

This week we are being sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs.    Our challenge for this week is monochromatic.  If you have trouble with the exact shades of being monochromatic, see the color circle at the bottom of this post.

Now onto my card.  A few weeks ago I used a silhouette for the first time and am just in love with them now.  This one is called "Butterfly Solace".  Instead of coloring the background, I sponge painted it in "Peeled Paint" and "Broken China".  The die on the outside is Lattice Rectangle and "Crown Oval" on the inside.  The flowers, pearls, and ribbon finish it off.

Both the digi and patterned papers are from FLD.  For the papers on the inside, I used 2 different shades of greens and embossed the die with "Peeled Paint".

Recipe: digi and patterned papers-Floppy Latte Designs, dies-"Lattice Rectangle" and "Crowned Ovals", plain papers-Bazzill, ink-distress in "Peeled Paint" and "Broken China", flowers-Prima, pearls- Kaiser Crafts, lace-Hero Arts.

You have to remember that monochromatic means shades of one color, not different colors of one color.  If you have trouble with it, you can check it out the picture below.  Hope this helps.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Nicecrane Designs Little Angels Series

Little Angels Series

Ignacio has come up with a new series called the "Little Angels".  There are 7 of them in this series.  Since they are already colored, it's any easy way to make a stunning card.  Just print them out, attach them to your favorite papers, add some embellishments and bam!!  You are done!

I used Tim Holtz's Distress Crackle paint in "Rock Candy" over the image to give it a distressed look.  I also used my distresser on all the edges of the paper to add to the distressed look.  The metal medallion finishes off the look.  I wanted to add some  metal corners, but they weren't rusted, so I'm doing that now and will use them sometime later.

Challenge #66
Tag It
This weeks challenge is using tags somewhere on your
card.  I sort of spaced out and forgot I had to use a
tag when I made my card.  I thought I'd get ahead
before I went on vacation last week and make my card.
I guess I was already in vaca mode---oops.  So I had
to add one when I came back.
Back to my card...I got to pick my digi form Ginger Loft.  I went with this cute little bear set called "Bently Springtime".  The papers are from Floppy Latte Designs March Collaboration.  The backgound is sponge painted with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks.  I'm really starting to love this technique (as I'm sure you've noticed on my last few cards).

Here's the inside of my card.  The part with the tag....The expression also comes with the Bentley set, along with another digi and expression.
This is my second card for this challenge.  Another vacation space moment.  I forgot that I volunteered to do this. duh...  This digi is from our sponsor, http://thestampingboutique.com/.   The papers are from this wonderful girl named Heather Jolly, and you can find all her papers here http://sunshynehs.blogspot.com/.  The flowers are also from her kit.  I used lots of stickles on the girl, berries, and flowers.  No clue where the tag came from.

Recipe: 1st card- digi's-Ginger Loft "Bentley Springtime", paper-FLD "March Collob", Tim Holtz's distress ink, stamp-Danelle Johnson, stash-ribbon, pearls, rhinestones, stickles.

Recipe-2nd card-digi-Stamping Boutique "She Who Paints The Forest", paper-Heather Jolly "Blossoms of Spring", stickles.
One lucky winner will get your choice of 5 digi's.

Peter Rabbit Series

Here's a card that I made using Nicecrane Designs new Peter Rabbit Series.  This whole series is just so adorable.

I tired making something new with this card.  It's called a Recessed Window Card.

I like this card, but need to practise...ha ha.

It took me about 3 or 4 times just to try and get the folds right. Just an FYI, though. If you try this off Splitcoasters, the printed directions tell you to fold the card in half, but you actually have to fold it twice to make the side, so check the video directions. The two pictures below are the inside of the card and a close-up of the crackled digi.

You can find all the info on Splitcoast Stampers site at- http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/recessedwindow/.

Recipe:  digi-Nicecrane Designs "Peter Rabbit Series", paper-Glitz "Vintage" and Floppy Latte Designs "Vintage", rhinestones and flowers-Prima "e.", Glimmer Mist-"Coffee Shop" and "Yellow Daisy's" (flowers on front of card), Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint "Clear Rock Candy", stash-brads and dark brown card stock and the saying came from http://www.verses4cards.co.uk/leaving-verses-poems-quotes.html.

You can find the Peter Rabbit Series here: http://nicecranedesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=20_86.
I would like to add my card to the following challenges:  Colour Create Challenge #71 (white, cream, & brown)        abc-challenge U is for..unusal fold (recessed window)       Ooh-la-la-creations Challenges #80 fancy fold (recessed window)                                                                                  Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #75 Back in time
***Note*** I will be on vacation from May 27th until June 5th...If I happpen to win, please don't discount my entry. I will contact you as soon as I get back.

Incy Wincy #92 Wedding-Engagement

2 May 11 #92 Wedding-Engagement

This weeks sponsor is Karen's Doodles.  The lucky winner gets you choice of 3 digi's.

We had our choice of two digi's to work with.  One being a cutesy dog couple (which you will see what our wonderful DT came up using this) and this being the other.  Now normally, I would've gone cutesy, since that's what I'm more comfortable with, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone, instead.  And wow!  Did I surprise myself.  I think it came out really good.
Recipe-digi-Karen's Doodles, paper-Glitz "Vintage" (solid dark paper),  Floppy Latte Designs "Vintage" (bg paper-which I got from Stitchy Bear Stamps) and scraps, flowers and pearls-Prima "e." Flowers are sprayed with glimmer mist in "Coffee Shop" & " Graphite", and stickles in "Diamond" (on her dress, earrings, neck less, and hair piece).

We would like to welcome Nikki, known to the card land as darling ho, as a GDT member this month.  Make sure you say hi.

I got these great digi papers free by spending $10 on Stitchy Bear Stamps, which was very easy, by the way...
