Crocheted Baby Cardigan

baby cardigan

I  crocheted this for my grandson to be...due June 14th,,,for the fall,  its one of the easiest sweaters I've ever tried to make and am making more, playing with thinner yarn to see if it will fit newborn-6 mos.  For this one I used Caron's *dazzleaire* in Pebble and it came out same size as the directions for the pattern.  If you want to try it click baby cardigan for complete instructions.  Will post the other one as soon as I'm done with it.

New Baby Card

I made this card for a friend of mine who is expecting a new baby girl in Feb. (I know it's a ways away, but I couldn't wait to get started on it)!!  The digi is called "Hello World".  It's one I've had for a while, but don't know where I got it...
  1. I printed two of them and cut out the egg part to make it pop and added pearls to the centr of the flowers.  I used the Labels Dies.  The papers are more from my friend Elaine.   The crongrats word I printed from my computer and the rest of the embellies are from my stash.
For the inside I also printed the words on my computer and used the same papers as borders that I used on the outside.  I really hope she likes it.

Kelley's Kids Challenge#2 Aug 8th Bring on the Babies

Challenge #2
Bring on the Babies

Hope everyone enjoyed the first every Kelley Kids Challenge.  Congratulations to all of those of you who won.  And if you were one of the unlucky ones who didn't win, just keep on trying!!  You'll win eventually.

For our second challenge, we want you to use baby digi's.  I used the "Freedom" digi.  How can you pass up this cute little butt?  You know we all have pictures like this.  The papers are from the endless stash.  I used the Labels die in three different sizes.  The sentiment is from my computer that I had embossed with "Tea Dye".  It's tough to add just the right amount of embellies and not go over board for a card with a little boy on it.
Recipe: digi Kelley's Kids "Freedom", papers-stash, bows-Sweet Touch, flowers-Colorbok, distress ink-"Tea Dye".
Wood Hanging

I decided to make a second project for this.  First I had to cut and sand down a piece of wood.  Then I added a coat of green acrylic paint.  Once it was dry, I painted on a pretty thick coat of old fashion crackle gel.  No short cuts on this project.  Depending on how big you want your crackles, is how thick or thin you add the crackle gel. Once it dried to a tacky feel, I added the light gold color.  I picked the colors to match my bathroom.  I added the raffia to the wires for just a punch of something(?)...

The frame is from the "Poppies" kit from Heather Jolly.  Using a new program I've been playing with, I inserted the digi and then added the words.  If you look at the closeup, you can see that I used Ranger's Distress Stickles in "Frosted Lace" for the pitcher and bowl to give them an aged look.

Hope you like both of my projects...

One Stitch At A Time Challenge

Challenge #53-New Baby

I love these challenges.  This being only the second one I've done. I took a couple of weeks off to work on wooden Easter pins and door hangers (they're on sale here on ebay-hint, hint).  That being said, I have to say that I ABSOLUTLEY hate the Stitchy Bear web site.  I get suckered in every month spending money just to get the free set...grrrrr.  A need help stopping-I'm addicted.  whew...now I feel better-on to my card.

Of course everything is from the SB web site. All from which I bought this morning, because I didn't have any baby digi's and then had to go ahead and buy more...

Recipe;  paper-Toucan Scraps "Miracle" and "Miracle Blue", digi-Stitchy Stamps "Timeless Tots", dies-circle and scallop circle, flowers & pearls-Prima, and the ribbon is scraps.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenge:  Totally Stampalicious-Anything Goes
Hope you enjoy...
