You've Got Mail digi

Here's my latest card using one of Ignacio's newest set called You've Got Mail.   I colored the digi with my Copics and sponge painted the ground and sky with distress inks.  The papers are from Imaginisce, and the brads are leftovers from an old Crate Paper kit.  The blue side is one and the swirl part is the other side.  I distressed all the edges of the paper with my distressing tool--it's so much easier than when I was using my scissors...haha.  Get your own set of these cute digi's by clicking on the link below!!

Incy Wincy Sept 19th #112 Distressing

19 Sept 11
Challenge #112
Distressing

This week we are being sponsored by The Stamp Fairy and the challenge is distressing.  Make sure you go to the Incy Wincy Designs  blog to find out all the details.  This has become one of my favorite challenges!!  I made a card similar to this a month or so ago, but using a different image and papers.  I loved the way it came out so much, that this is how I now do alot of my cards.  I love all the burning, ripping, and inking!!

For this card I used the image called "Barry Spooky Bats2" from The Stamp Fairy.   There are 5 different stamps in this group.  All the papers and scrolls are from MME's "The Spider's Web" line.  I like the way they are not the "typical" Halloween colors.  The buttons are from my stash.  I stamped "Happy Halloween" inside.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it...

The winner gets to spend $9 in the store!!

Don't forget to visit the other DT's blogs and leave them some love!!

I'm still without ink when I made this card.  The girl in the blue came from the Flower Children Bookmarks.  I cut her out, decorating her with stickles on her dress and crackle paint in "Rock Candy" on her hat, and the saying.  The papers are scrap also from Nicecrane Designs.  I burnt, distressed, and inked them up, glueing them here and there.  The birds and flowers were cut out of pieces from the scraps, also.  I also added the crackle paint to the flower and popped the birds).  To finish it up, I added lace, a button (that sort of looks like rock), and the pin.  I think they are called hat pins, but not sure.  If anyone knows for sure, would you let me know, please?...thanx.

Here's some close ups-

Funny Summer Series

As soon as I saw this series of digi's, I knew that I wanted too use them.  But I'm getting kind of sick of making cards, so I wanted to go in a totally different direction.

I printed and colored them first.  I sponge painted the sky's, grounds, and trees.  On the winter piece, I added some stickles in "Frosted Lace" to give the ground an icy feel.  Then I racked my brains on what to do next?  I found some old wood signs, from when I use to do woodworking.  I drilled some very small holes at the top and bottom of all the signs (except the last one-that only needed top holes).   I painted them in a blueish grey acrylic paint.  When they were dry, I added the crackle gel.  As soon as it was ready, I put the Antique White over the crackle gel and let the get work it's magic.  Next I glued the papers to the wood, making sure to cover all of the papers, so they wouldn't buckle.

This next step was a big pain in my butt.  I used some old jump rings, from when my daughter did jewelry making.  I must've put 100 holes in my fingers trying to get them in the holes in the wood and then hooked together.  Each piece is held together with one ring in each hole and then an extra one holding the two of them together.  The final step is seal the entire thing with an acrylic sealer.  I used a matte finish.

This was alot of work, but I really enjoyed making it and the way it came out (except for the jump rings)...

Below is a closeup of each of the pieces, so that you can see the work that went into them.

This is one of the new digi's in this series.  I love this set.  It's so cool.  Of course, all his works are.  I distressed the edges with ink and a distresser tool.  I did that to all the edges of the paper, added ribbon, and some metal pieces.  The papers are a mix from three different designers.

I followed the sketch from Magical Monday Challenge for this card.  I just works so well.  I love how it came out.

Challenge #69
Use a digi
This weeks challenge is easy...just use a digi, which most of us do now adays, anyways.  I know I hardly ever use my hard stamps anymore.  Maybe once in a while for sayings, but even then not too often.   This week I got to pick a digi from Bonna at Kelley's Kids.  I picked this one called "Miss May Spray".  This was a tough one for me because of the water.  I tried to get opinions on it and they were mixed, so I just decided to leave it as it was.  I'll try and do better next week.  All the papers were from my scrap pile, not sure who made the butterfly, and the rubons are from American Crafts.
Recipe: digi-Kelley's Kids "Miss May Spray", paper-scraps, rubons-American Crafts, distress inks-"tea dye", "weathered wood", and "broken china", stickles-"waterfall", and punch-Martha Stewart's "Floral Lace"

I didn't like the way my first card came out so I made a new one using the freebie from this weeks newsletter.  It's free to sign up, so there's no excuse not to.  Plus, you get wonderful freebies from some terrific designers.  I followed the sketch from FTTC this week.  The papers are from MME.  I used two sizes of scalloped circles dies to cut out my digi, added some ribbon, flowers and a tag that I printed out on my computer, cut out with a Labels" die and distressed with ink in Broken China from Tim Holtz.

Sexy Pinup Series

Here's my newest card using this new series.  I made the card for my step dads birthday on the 14th.  Hope my mom doesn't get too mad...hehe.

I didn't want to add any embellishments to take away from the picture itself.  All the lipstick prints are just digital embellishments to add to the picture.  Too bad I don't own any lipstick, I'd do it to the card ;)

The outside I distressed with distress ink in tea dye and the inside was printed off my computer.

I used the "Strawberry Fairy" digi for my card this week.  I add glitter to her wings, added some extremely georgous paper that I got from a wonderful friend on CDAC.  I also added a couple of different ribbons, and a couple brads, punched the paper with a punch from Martha Stewart and added the stamp.
Here's what it looks like all the way open in the inside.

Nicecrane Design "Little Maids" Series

Nicecrane Designs
Little Maid Series

Another card using Nicecrane Designs digi and papers.  I just can't get enough of these incredible designs.

I colored the girls and fence with Copics, but sponge painted the rest of it with Tim Holtz's distress ink in "broken china", for the sky, and "spiced marmalade", "peeled paint", and "fired brick" for the trees, and "burlap" and "tea dye" for the outer edges.   The paper is from the "Mystique Nature" line. I added the metal pieces to the corners.

I really like the way this came out.  Probably one of my favorites.   It's the same back ground paper that's on the inside.
Here's a close up of the sponge painting.

And here's a close up of the inside.  The saying was suppose to be on the bottom of the digi, but I had Ignacio send it as a separate file, so that I could print it out on matching paper for the inside of the card.  It's not quite centered, but it took me alot of printing to get it this way.  I used scissors to get the edges a little distressed. (I really need a distressing tool).

Nicecrane Designs Card

14 May 11
Here's another card I made using Nicecrane Designs dig's and papers.  This time I used the "Tell Me Stories" line.  This whole set is just adorable. I
colored and attached it to the papers from the "Grunge Nature" ATC paper line.   The other half of the paper is a liner paper from the inside of a scrap booking album.
I used the sketch for this card from Fussy and Fancy Challenge.

Here's the samples of the paper pack and digi's that I used.

Here's the link for the "Grunge Nature" papers-

Incy Wincy #75 ATC's

Ok-You guys can shoot me now...When I first joined the IW team, there was a question posted for new ideas for things to do that were different, so this is what I came up with (trying to impress the rest of the DT).  I had seen them on the puter, but never made one or had anyone send one to me.  What a pain in the butt trying to come up with something.

Anyways, this is mine.  It's all Tim Holtz products.  The stickles are at the ends of the flowers and the butterfly.

Inks- Distress in-weathered wood, spice marmalade, and dusty concord.
Stamp-Flights of Fancy
Crackle Paint-rock candy
Stickles-diamond

This week we are being sponsored by ATTCC.  Prize is $10 to the store.  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team has done.

Distressing

This week is all about distressing, whether it be wet or dry.  We got to take our choice of images  from ATTC and download paper from Bearly Mine Designs.

This is another first for me.  I've never used download paper before.  It's actually pretty cool.  You can use it as much as you want.

I added "Rock Candy" crackle paint to my image and distressed the edges with scissors (I don't have one of those things that cuts up the edges of paper, so I just used scissors.  I also cut the image into 4 pcs.

In case you didn't figure it out yet, we are being sponsored by Barely Mine Designs this week.  Prize is 2 digi packs of paper-winners choice.

Incy Wincy #69 Blue & White

New Monday...New Challenge.  Nov 22nd

This week our challenge was all about "Blue & White".  The design team got to pick images from ATTC.

This weeks winner will receive a $10 voucher to the store.
I did something I usually don't do for a card, burn the edges.  I've done this plenty of times for layouts, but never on a card.  The paper is from my never ending stash of "no clue who this is from", pearls are from Prima, along with the flower. The flower is called "Cacutta Mini's Willow".  I edged the images of the digi with "weathered wood" distress ink.,

Make sure you check out the other DT member's card:  Chris, Carla, Heather, Jenny, Linda, Nikki, Nikki C, Sarah, Shelley.

I'm also entering this card into the "Sew Many Cards"-Blue & White Challenge

***You Gotta Have Friends*** for Challenge #82

I made a tri-fold card, but made it so it opens up up-ways instead of sideways.
paper is from Glitz.  Everything else is from the stash.  I added "Clear Gloss" glaze from Making memories to the top of my image.

Since it's all about "Friends", I added a sentiments and distressed the edges with "tea dye".  The third part of the card is blank.    I also got lucky when I made this card, because I did it before I got sick over the weekend and it's the only card that I got done in the past week.
