Kenny K's #44 Retro

8 May 11
Kenny K's
Retro Theme

My husband wanted me to make a card for his dad's birthday this week.  He picked out this digi, so I decided to wait until Sunday to see what the challenge was.

Question of the week???
How do you make a birthday card for a 81 yr old guy, using a rockin' biker chick and a retro theme?

Answer--Not sure, but this is what I came up with...

Recipe
digi-Kenny K "Biker Girl", paper-Heather Jolly "Cucumber Salsa"

I found this site where I got the paper.  It's called Digital Scrapbooking Freebies by Heather Jolly.  You can get the link to her site here and the page to find this paper here.

This is the sketch to follow over at Kenny K's.  I really like the way it was put together with the pp's.  Unless I make a nicer card, I think I'm gonna give this one to my daughter for her "Sweet 16".
Recipe:  paper-All My Memories (purple pattern) and the rest is from scraps, brads-MLB's "Zinnia" and Crate Paper's "Kaitlen", digi-"Metal Babe" and flowers-Prima

This weeks theme is a Color combo, And we would like to see

(A card for your Sweet Heart)

This is the inspiration picture for this weeks color challenge over at Kenny K's.  It also has to be a card for your sweetheart.  I made mine for my hubby. I know-last minute.  I sold the other ones that I had made.  That and I didn't make too many this year because we are remodeling our master bedroom and bathroom and it's next to impossible to find anything or even get to it!!

The digi is the freebie image from Jan (you gotta love those freebies)!!

Recipe
Paper-MME "Be Loved" & Nicecrane Designs "Mystique Nature"
Nesties Dies-Labels

**I added the link to Nicecrane Designs because I had gotten a $10 GC, but being techno challenged that I am, had problems separating the papers fro individual print outs. Ignazio helped me out and answered all the emails that I sent right away, so I had to give a big shout out-thanx (although he probably will never see this)...

OK-I just went to post my card and they are already on to another challenge..grrrrr.  That's what I get for procrastinating.

Sketch

This weeks challenge was a sketch by Bev.  It helps
put a card together, but I always seem to have problems
not making the card look bulky, when it's lots of layers
(plus borders) need to be added to a card.  The image
is a Kenny K's January freebie
The paper is from Making Memories and scraps, "Double Heart Punch" is EK Success, and the stamp in the middle of the heart is from Stampin' Up.  I also added the brads to kind of keep it together and for the FTTC to "use hardware".

I'm made this card to also fit the following challenges:
FTTC #102-Use Hardware
Simon Says-Animal Antics

Challenge 23 – Let it snow

This is just a basic card.  Not much to say about it.  I added rhinestones and used black & white paper, which I've actually never sone before.

Kenny K Challenge #18 Anything But A Square

I used Kenny's new Christmas line for this challenge. This one is called "Mrs Clause".  I betcha all the guys would be staying up late to wait for her to come down the chimney!! haha....
OK-this was a really, really hard challenge.  I've never done a card that wasn't a regular card shape (well, I guess this is technically a regular card shape, so I hope it still counts. please, please, please???)..

I got the idea from "Time For Crafting" e-magazine, issue #13. It's called a "Cracker shaped card", but to me it looks more like candy.  In the plan, the middle was suppose to stay closed, but I decided to fold it at the ends and add a sentament inside.  I actually like it better this way.  I used my new papers, "Christmas Past", from Graphic 45.  They are very vintage.  I decorated my "cracker" with stickles, scrap lace & ribbon, and rhinestone in "pale green" and "clear".

Here's the inside.  I used the "Tags" Nestie's, inked in "Tes Dye".  The sentiment was printed off my puter.  I really like the way this came out and I'm sure you'll be seeing more of the same design.

Sunday, October 31, 2010                                Kenny K's Challenge # 17

This weeks challenge is an "Anything Goes"
challenge.
This is the first time I've done a Kenny K challenge. I found out about it through my DT position at Incy Wincy.  Kenny is sponsoring us in a couple of weeks.

Anyways, on to my card. I used the free digi called "Hollar Back Girl".  I think she rocks.  The paper is scraps, rub-ons are from MME, and the pearls are "Say It In Pearls" from Prima.

I used a sketch from the "Pricillas Styles" challenge, so this card will be used for that challenge also.
