OSAAT #72 July 24th Pearls & Swirls

24 July 11
Challenge #72
Pearls & Swirls

I'm sorry so say that this will be my last post for OSAAT.  Things have just gotton too much for me to handle at this time.  I will miss playing with all the wonderful designers little doodles, as they call them.

Another Sunday, another challenge on OSAAT.  Hope everyone is staying cool this summer.  I know, if you're unlucky like me and live in the south part of the US, it's been unbearable!!  Especially in Texas.  No rain, record breaking 100+ degree heat for months and no break in site!!  Although it is a good excuse to sit inside all day and get some scrapping done...

On to this weeks challenge. We want you to use pearls and swirls on your card.   I got to pick my digi from Hope Jacare Doodles this week.  You can find all the designers at Stitchy Bear Stamps.  This is the first time I've worked with this designer and loved this tree house.  It's also the first time I've made a "Congrats on your new home" card, also.  I tried to find some paper with swirls in it.  I colored the digi with my Copics and then sponge painted the leaves.  I used two different sizes of the deckled rectangle die for both my digi and the phrase.  For 2 different firsts, I like the way it came out.

Recipe-digi-Hope Jacare Doodles "Tree house With Bridge", paper-Scrapbook Walls "Canopy" The Paper Co. "Marigold", dies-Deckled Rectangles, pearls-Prima e., paint-Polymark Pearl

Challenge #71
Flowers

Here's my card for this weeks challenge.  I used the Silhouette Flowers from Glitter Babe.  You can find these on Stitchy Bear Stamps.  It's the first time I've used a silhouette digi.  I embossed a piece of white card stock with the "Moroccan Screen" Cuttlebug folder.  After cutting out the flowers, I glued them to a "Labels 10" die, that I printed the saying on.  The saying comes with the digi.  Then I added a butterfly to finish it off.

Recipe:  digi-Glitter Babe "Silhouette 3", embossing folder-Cuttlebug "Moroccan Screen", dies-"Labels 10", butterfly-stash.

I got to pick an image from Barbara Jenson.  I couldn't pass up this naughty little nurse.  She will certianly cheer up some poor sick sole.  You can find this digi and lots more at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store

I used a mix of papers from Imaginisce, cut diagonally, and and added ribbon to set off the cut.  A flower, some rhinestones, and a "get well" stamp finishes off the card.

Challenge #69
Use a digi
This weeks challenge is easy...just use a digi, which most of us do now adays, anyways.  I know I hardly ever use my hard stamps anymore.  Maybe once in a while for sayings, but even then not too often.   This week I got to pick a digi from Bonna at Kelley's Kids.  I picked this one called "Miss May Spray".  This was a tough one for me because of the water.  I tried to get opinions on it and they were mixed, so I just decided to leave it as it was.  I'll try and do better next week.  All the papers were from my scrap pile, not sure who made the butterfly, and the rubons are from American Crafts.
Recipe: digi-Kelley's Kids "Miss May Spray", paper-scraps, rubons-American Crafts, distress inks-"tea dye", "weathered wood", and "broken china", stickles-"waterfall", and punch-Martha Stewart's "Floral Lace"

I didn't like the way my first card came out so I made a new one using the freebie from this weeks newsletter.  It's free to sign up, so there's no excuse not to.  Plus, you get wonderful freebies from some terrific designers.  I followed the sketch from FTTC this week.  The papers are from MME.  I used two sizes of scalloped circles dies to cut out my digi, added some ribbon, flowers and a tag that I printed out on my computer, cut out with a Labels" die and distressed with ink in Broken China from Tim Holtz.
Recipe-digi- Kelley's Kids "Polly in her Night Shirt" paper-MME "Love Me Do", flowers-Prima "Fleurs de Prima" and Colorbok, ribbons-Maya Road (red) and the white is scrap, ink-Tim Holtz distress ink "Broken China", pearls-Kaiser Crafts, die cuts-Scallop Circles & Labels.

Wedding/Sympathy

Our sponsor this week is One Stop Card Crafts.  The lucky winner gets a $10 voucher to the store.

WOW!!  Can't believe it's Sunday already...you know what that means??  Time for another challenge from OSAAT.  This week we want to see either a wedding or sympathy project.  This week is a collaboration from all the designers.  Which means all the designers have to do digi's or papers to fit the theme.  I got Toucan Scraps "Congratulations" words.

**NOTE** If you saw the Flower Picking Box that I made by mistake, this is the right way I was suppose to do this challenge.

I made a wedding card (well because, you can't really do sympathy with the congrats word).  I used some silver card stock in two shades, black and white card stock.  I tried to keep it simple.  I had the champagne bottle digi already and warmest wishes stamp.  All the embellies I kept in white with pearls and some pearl sprays.  The champagne bottle digi hides the spot where you can put money or a gift card.  You can find both digi's here at Stitchy Bear Stamps.
Recipe-digi's Toucan Scraps "Congratulations" and Sylvie's Stamps "Champagne Bucket", stamp-Stampendious, paper Creative Imaginations "Elegance", pearls-Kaiser Crafts, dies-labels, paper-scraps.

This weeks sponsor.  The lucky winner gets a $10 voucher to the store.

I got to pick an image from Teri, the master creator behind Delicious Doodles.  Since our theme is Things With Wings", I picked this hot little number.  I angeled her on a diagonal, added some flowers, pearls, butterfly's, stickles, and sparkly ribbon.  The butterflies were cut out with a punch from Martha Stewart.
Don't forget about the newsletter. This week we highlight the talents of Jess from Floppy Latte Designs.  The freebie is just darn cute to miss out on.  Check out all the info on Stitchy Bear Stamps.

Challenge #66
Tag It
This weeks challenge is using tags somewhere on your
card.  I sort of spaced out and forgot I had to use a
tag when I made my card.  I thought I'd get ahead
before I went on vacation last week and make my card.
I guess I was already in vaca mode---oops.  So I had
to add one when I came back.
Back to my card...I got to pick my digi form Ginger Loft.  I went with this cute little bear set called "Bently Springtime".  The papers are from Floppy Latte Designs March Collaboration.  The backgound is sponge painted with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks.  I'm really starting to love this technique (as I'm sure you've noticed on my last few cards).

Here's the inside of my card.  The part with the tag....The expression also comes with the Bentley set, along with another digi and expression.
This is my second card for this challenge.  Another vacation space moment.  I forgot that I volunteered to do this. duh...  This digi is from our sponsor, http://thestampingboutique.com/.   The papers are from this wonderful girl named Heather Jolly, and you can find all her papers here http://sunshynehs.blogspot.com/.  The flowers are also from her kit.  I used lots of stickles on the girl, berries, and flowers.  No clue where the tag came from.

Recipe: 1st card- digi's-Ginger Loft "Bentley Springtime", paper-FLD "March Collob", Tim Holtz's distress ink, stamp-Danelle Johnson, stash-ribbon, pearls, rhinestones, stickles.

Recipe-2nd card-digi-Stamping Boutique "She Who Paints The Forest", paper-Heather Jolly "Blossoms of Spring", stickles.

OSAAT #65 Graduation/Schools Out

 5 June 11
Graduation/School's Out

This week I got to pick out a digi from Stef of Glitterbabes.  I chose these two cute little doggies, but wasn't sure how I was going to make them work for graduation.  It took me awhile to come up with an idea for this card.

I decided to make a gift card holder card (not sure what the correct name is), because what graduate doesn't need money??
I used four different papers for this card.  Three of them are from Panda Bear Designs "Born To Shop" line and the green one on the inside is from JLJ Designs "St. Patrick's Day" line.  You can find all the papers and digi at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

The bottom pictures show the inside written part and the place to put the gift card.  I cut two different pieces of paper to hide the slit.

This weeks winner get 5 Promarkers from Creative Craft World...

Recipe: digi-GlitterBabes "Best Friends", paper-Panda Bear Designs "Let's Go Shopping" and JLJ Designs "St. Patricks Day", stickers-Crafts Elet and EK Success, stamp-ANM, ink-Rubber Stampede, punch-Martha Stewart "Botanical Scallop".

22 May 11 Challenge #63  Bling It On

This week we have two sponsors, which means, two lucky winners.  One winner will recieve a $10 voucher to One Stop Card Crafts and the other your choice of three digi's at Digis With Attitude.
I got to play with a great digi and papers from Sylvie's Stamps.  You can find all her digi's, along with all the designer's at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

This week we want to see the bling on your card.  On my card, I colored in the digi, cut her out, and glued it to "Lacey Circle Motif" paper.  I blinged her up by adding rhinestones and stickles.  Silver stickles went on her head rap and belt and diamond stickles went around the edge of the motif.  I also stuck rhinestones around the motif and on the center of the flowers of the bg paper.  Finally, a card I actually like..yea!!

This weeks challenge is an easy, peasy one.  Anything Goes.  Whatever your hearts desires.  I got to pick my digi from Stephanie, the talented artist behind GlitterBabes.  You can find all her digi's at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

I'm a little outside my comfort zone on this one.  I usually don't do animals. I'm trying to do new things and push the envelope, as far as my typical cards that I make..  But this is another card I'm not real thrilled about.

Recipe:  digi-GlitterBabe "2horses", paper-scraps, flowers-Prima, chipboard-K & Co "Amy Butler", distress ink-Tim Holtz "antique linen".
Don't forget about the newsletters.  You get all the lastest updates when the designers add new digi's and a free digi.  This week the newsletter spotlights are very own Deb R.  It's free, so why not sign up now?  You can find all the info on the right side of the main page here.

OSAAT 5-8 #61 Fancy Folds

5 May 11
Fancy Folds-more than one fold

Our sponsor this week is
prize is 5 digi's of your choice

For this weeks challenge I got to play with a digi and papers from June at Dezinaworld.  I was so excited when she came out with them a couple weeks ago and that I got to pick them out this week.  I used three different papers from the paper pack.  I popped the girl and the birdhouse.  For the birdhouse, I put it over one that was printed on the paper.  You can find all her designs, along with all the other designer's at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

It's a good thing that the easel card counts as a fancy fold, because it's the one that I do the best at.  That and one of the few that I can actually do.

Recipe:  paper-"Shabby Chic" pack, digi-Spring Girl, pearls-Prima "e" & "Say it in pearls", flowers-Prima "Essentials", and "silver" & "diamond" stickles-around the bottom of her hat, buttons on jacket and flower on birdhouse. (You can't even see them)

Challenge #60-Embossing

For our challenge this week, we want  you to do some embossing on your card.  You can do dry or wet.  I did both.

I got to play with images by Deborah from Blackberry Lane Designs.  Usually, I use embossing powders for these types of challenges , but decided to go with the embossing folders for this one.  I'm not really sure about this card.  I can't decide if I like it or not, but here it is, anyways.

Recipe: digi-Blackberry Lane Designs "Camellias in a Water Can", paper-Bazzil, embossing folder-Provo Craft "Candy Cane Stripes", embossing powder-Ranger "Princess Gold", stamp-Anita's, flowers-Prima "Essentials" (fast becoming a fav of mine), brads-they were from a kit, but can't remember which one.

#58-Sassy

Here's my big news I was talking about a little while ago.  I was invited to be on the One Stitch At A Time Challenge DT.  The darling Stitchy invited me herself.  I'm soooo excited-plus this is going to save me soooooooo much money now that I don't have to buy the digi's & papers..haha.

OK-on to my first card as a DT member...

This week is all about being "Sassy".  What do you think?  Does she say sassy enough to you?  I tried to make her look like she was sitting in a tulip garden, being what else, but sassy!!  Instead of having her on the circle, I made it look like she's coming out of it, this time.  I cut some of the tulips from the paper and popped them and added stickles for some glitz (not sure if you can see it though).
Let me know what you think, please..

Recipe: paper-Toucan Scraps "Tulips", digi-Kelley's Kids "Bubu Fairy", diamond and waterfall stickles, and "circle" die

Challenge #53-New Baby

I love these challenges.  This being only the second one I've done. I took a couple of weeks off to work on wooden Easter pins and door hangers (they're on sale here on ebay-hint, hint).  That being said, I have to say that I ABSOLUTLEY hate the Stitchy Bear web site.  I get suckered in every month spending money just to get the free set...grrrrr.  A need help stopping-I'm addicted.  whew...now I feel better-on to my card.

Of course everything is from the SB web site. All from which I bought this morning, because I didn't have any baby digi's and then had to go ahead and buy more...

Recipe;  paper-Toucan Scraps "Miracle" and "Miracle Blue", digi-Stitchy Stamps "Timeless Tots", dies-circle and scallop circle, flowers & pearls-Prima, and the ribbon is scraps.

Challenge #53-Glitter & Gems
 13 March 11

Ever since Stitchy Bear Stamps sponsored Incy Wincy, I have been totally addicted to the digi's and papers. I use them constantly on alot of different challenges.  I hate to admit is though, this is the first time that I used them in this challenge.
I am getting lazy. I wait till the end of the week and then combine the challenges I want to do into one card because I'm getting backed up on cards that I haven't sold.  So that's what I did with this challenge.

Challenges:
Totally Stampalicious -use stamp w/beverage
Simon Says-birthday
Delightful Challenge-use green
Catch The Bug Challenge-Use Scallops

Recipe: papers-Crate Papers "Blue Hill" & Basic Grey "Wisteria", digi-Stitchy Stamps "Sudz",  die-scallop oval, rhinestones-"Creative Charms", flowers-K & Co and Prima "Sprites", green & diamond stickles, and the quote came from Bazzle.com.

I think I'm gonna put this one aside for my husbands birthday next month.  He'll be 54 (I think)..haha

Here's the inside...
